Let Me Introduce Myself!
My name is Jennifer Willis. I would like to give you a little background about myself.
This will be my 29th year of teaching. I received my degree and teaching credential from Long Beach State University. I began teaching EL students in the Rocklin Unified School District. I was then hired to teach 2nd grade at Loomis Grammar School. I taught there for 5 years. Once my son was born I decided to work part-time. I worked for one year as the Title One teacher for both Franklin and Loomis school. That is where I met Mrs. Woodard. After that one year she and I decided to job share in 3rd grade at Franklin School. Together we taught 3rd grade in one classroom for 13 years. For the past ten years we have both been teaching full-time in 3rd grade side by side.
I am married and have two children. My daughter, Samantha (25), is living in Citrus Heights and working at Sierra College. My son, Matthew (23) is living and working in San Diego.
Teaching is a big part of my life. I work hard to create an environment of a classroom family. I want my students to be engaged, motivated, and challenged to be their best. I work hard to support my students' needs and hopefully instill a love for learning. I am always working to improve my skills as a teacher so that I can best prepare my students for success.
I look forward to a terrific school year. I will promise to communicate with you regularly and keep you in the look. I just love llamas so our theme for this school year is "A llama learning happens here" because "Learning is a llama fun"!
